Bernard David

Bernard David discovered his calling at the age of 36 thanks to a film about the ceramist Claude Champy. In 1988, he completed his training at the Maison de la Céramique de Mulhouse. The following year, on his way back to Brittany, he stopped at La Borne. After a pivotal meeting with Hervé Rousseau and the Boisbelle workshop he settled in the Berry region. Preferring to fire with gas, he allows himself everything with no restrictions: pieces fired with wood, raku smoking, acrylic on terracotta… Bernard David loves crockery as much as he loves one-off pieces. This “eternal beginner” is particularly fond of the emotion of living things with a taste of the wild. He prefers being to doing.
