Christine Limosino-Favretto
While studying at ENSAAMA in Paris, Christine discovered ceramics and continued her training in Raoul Favretto’s workshop in Humbligny. Her utilitarian stoneware is characterised by very fine turning on the wheel, and is richly glazed with a combination of superimposed orange slip and ash glazes. Christine also creates raw, predominantly vertical sculptures; some display the daring balance of a dancing, elegant and sober form; movement, carving out of space. The search for turned or modelled forms is one of her main interests. After many years of firing in her gas kiln at 1300° C, Christine is now wood-firing in other potters’ kilns.
