Alicia Rochina

Alicia Rochina learned ceramics with Pep Gomez in Barcelona. She works with stoneware and porcelain. She makes everyday objects, plates, bowls, jugs, etc. that are thrown then decorated with geometric or spontaneous patterns using oxide crayons and black, grey and white slips, sometimes enhanced with a touch of pink and partly coated with a transparent glaze. As with decoration, when turning pots she prefers free and broad gestures. Recently, Alicia has been creating jewellery, necklaces, rings and earrings, which she combines with a precious metal, silver.  Currently she is firing in other potters’ gas and wood-fired kilns.
