Guillaume Moreau
Guillaume Moreau is a self-taught artist who designs and creates his sculptures piece by piece before assembling them. The use of earthenware and its multiple possibilities for colouring mean that he can obtain a wide range of materials in trompe-l’oeil, from flesh to fabric, from tyres to car bodies, from fur to leather. The hyperrealist sculptures tell a joyful story, mixing anachronistic mythology and surrealist fantasies. For him, precision, patience and meticulousness are just as necessary as observation, mastery and motivation to build a piece of art over a 5-month period. None of the sculptures can leave the viewer unmoved, as Guillaume dares to tackle controversial subjects with humour and sensuality.
