Mia Refslund Jensen

After an apprenticeship at the Bottani Dechaud workshop in La Borne and a degree from the Danish Design School, Mia set up her workshop in 2012.Throwing pots gives her the freedom to create tableware as well as furniture like mirrors, and larger pieces including tables and stools made of stoneware clay in contemporary colours.

Away from the wheel, her artistic approach is developing through a fragmented relationship with the body; powerful heads and walking or crouching legs. The legs, isolated, slender or bent, express waiting, rest, movement, the fragile balance of life that allows us to remain standing.
