Viola Hering
Viola followed an apprenticeship in Germany before joining Alfred Hering, who had already set up at the Poterie de Redan. In the shared workshop, she specialises in figurative modelling and decorations for everyday objects. She mainly works with glazed earthenware fired in an electric kiln at 1180° C. She makes a range for children, with plates and bowls with amusing cartoon animal designs inspired by comic strips, as well as brightly coloured dishes, jugs, egg cups and cups. In the same spontaneous style, she creates models for ridge tiles, ridge finials, garden decorations and statuettes. She depicts animals and characters inspired by fairy tales and fables.
